We're Suckers for a Classic Meet-Cute
Graduate Palo Alto opened in 1929 as Hotel President, named for Stanford alum and 31st U.S. President Herbert Hoover. But we couldn’t leave out his wife, Lou Henry—a fellow Stanford grad and the university’s first female geology major. Their love story began in class and followed them to the White House. In honor of them both, we named our café and bar: Lou and Herbert’s.
